
Suzanne Pleshette (January 31, 1937 - - January 19, 2008) was an American film, theatre television, voice actress. Pleshette began her career in theatre and was in films by the late 1950s. In later years, she was prominent in film roles like Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (633) and Spirited Away (11). She later appeared in various TV productions, mostly as a guest actor, and she was Emily Hartley on The Bob Newhart Show from 1972 until 1978, earning several Emmy Award nominations for her work. Pleshette was the daughter of Geraldine (nee Kaplan),[1] and Eugene Pleshette, was born January 31, 1937 in Brooklyn Heights. The parents of the couple were Jewish parents of immigrants from Russia or Austria-Hungary. She was the daughter of Geraldine Rivers, a performer and dancer.
